The beak-friendly quartz stones are essential for better feed conversion. They are not dissolved by the gastric juices and are therefore used for mechanical crushing, i.e. pre-digestion of the grain feed in the gizzard. Klaus stomach stones are not sharp-edged, so that throat injuries (foci of infection) are excluded.
